Summary of Weekly Activities

7th and 8th Grade students will continue learning about the expectations for the science classroom. We will start the week with a team-building activity were students will evaluate the skills needed for an effective team. The students will continue to discuss systems thinking especially the concept of interdependence and how vital it is for students to have effective communication skills within a science classroom.

Students will learn about lab safety and the expectations for lab safety and complete their first lab.

Student Safety Contract

Students must review with their guardian and sign and return the Student Safety Contract before they can participate in any labs or engineering projects. This insures and maximizes the safety in the classroom during these high energy activities.

Welcome to the new school year!

Science is all around you! This year, we will learn how to think like a scientist. Science teaches us how to become effective problem-solvers in real-world situations. As we learn science, we will identify how it applies to our lives. In addition to reading and discussing science content, we will design and carry out meaningful activities and draw conclusions based on our experiences and try to discover the importance of science in everyday life.

WEEK of AUGUST 10-11

This week both the 7th and 8th graders will be focusing on getting to know each other and the expectations for this year’s science classroom.

SYNERGY (Grading System)

Please register and begin using Synergy.
